Manuel Araneda Castex has been nominated for the Misha Black Medal for his "distinguished services to design education." This award, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field of design, is presented by the Royal Society of Designers for Industry (RDI), the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng), the College of Medallists, Imperial College London, the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, and the Royal College of Art.

A collaborator of poet Gonzalo Rojas, he unites form and spirit through sound,word, and visual design.Hisinternational work includes Chilean pavilions, exhibitions atFIT/SUNY New York, and critical projects on museographic language, extinct cultures, andcollective memory.Manuel’s design is a pedagogy of listening—of giving shape to theunspeakable.
